Hello! My name is Anna Pankiewicz. I’m a senior at the University of Kansas pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communication in the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications. I’m complimenting my major with minors in Spanish and Business.
At KU, I have enjoyed being involved on campus and in my community. Currently, I am working at the University of Kansas School of Business as a marketing communications intern. Previously, I worked as an intern for the Marketing and Fan Experience department of Kansas Athletics, and I served as the Marketing Chair on the St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center’s Student Ministry Council. Outside of KU, I was a game day intern for FC Kansas City during the 2016 season, and I am currently the Marketing Intern at the Kansas City Sports Commission.
In January of 2016, I had the opportunity to abroad in Cuba for 10 days. I enjoyed conversing in Spanish with the locals and drinking great coffee. I’m a history nerd, so learning about Cuba’s past and the current culture was fascinating, but ultimately, my favorite activity in Cuba was attending a baseball game.
I’m an avid fan of all sports; but baseball is my favorite sport, and the Kansas City Royals are my favorite team. Kansas basketball is a very close second, though. In 2015, I started a blog following the team throughout the season. I chose a pretty good season to follow!
